The Maricopa Association of Governments is conducting a Regional Bus Rapid Transit Feasibility Study to explore the interest in and feasibility of implementing BRT in our region. Working in partnership with member agencies, the study will also recommend a preliminary set of locations where a regional BRT network could connect to planned City of Phoenix BRT investments.

Great step forward, hope to see this evolve into a full LRT one day. Until then, doing great already!

Or you could just build a metro/light rail that runs more energy efficient and carries many more passengers…

I wonder why they don't just start building Tram and Light Rail networks

Brt is a low capacity augmentation to the solution.. we need a larger lrt or metro system to severely reduce congestion

May I PLEASE ask everyone who posted comments here to read "Moving Millions" by Stanley I. Fischler?! Although rather New York City-centric, Fischler makes fair comparisons between the differing technologies between the two public transit modes.

One way to REDUCE TIME and CARBON emissions, LIVE WERE YOU WORK. Make Gentrification illegal. BUILD FEDERALLY owned low income housing for service workers at the core of the city. Canada has the COOP program where the tenants are the managers and do their own maintenance. Germany has mini groceries stores within a simple walk of your apartment.

Stop building freeways. Make your public transport attractive and economical, force people to use it by closing parking stations.

LRTs please
there is 0 reason to use buses over LRTs. LRTs are more cost effective in the long run, more environmentally friendly, more attractive and massively boosts land value.

1:14 says it's more flexible than light rail. But doesn't mention it's lot more inefficient and lot more expensive in the long term and has much lower capacity compared to light rail.
Reason: BRT is always sponsored by oil and gas companies and tyre manufacturers. Lot more commissions for the local government compared to making LRT
