Just like religion, it's what people who represent it do that shapes what we think of it, same applies to gang stuff. I'm not from the USA but I feel like gang culture wasn't created to be what youngsters portray nowadays.. It was, at least to me, a way to unify those who are ignored by the government and/or mistreated by weak mentalities, and they unified to fight against it, not each other, money and manipulation changed that as it changed and keeps changing so many other things.
People look weird at crip walking because of it being a gang thing, but the smoothness in that shit is beyond stylish. Serena did this shit to celebrate and, at the same time, show others that she remembers where she came from.
