Показать описание
After 13 years with the City of Eugene's emergency management program, Patence Winningham-Melcher took on a larger job for an area the size of Puerto Rico that has had three federal disasters declared in her first three years as Lane County's Emergency Manager. A rural Oregon resident of the upper McKenzie Valley, she has evacuated from two recent wildfires. The last by this date was the Holiday Farm Fire that started Labor Day 2020 and destroyed several communities within a single day. A former CERT coordinator, Patence is passionate about getting people signed up on emergency alerts, apps, and to follow maps and fire updates. Here she speaks to a range of local voluteers at a meeting of the Eugene Neighborhoods' Preparedness Network (ENPN). Her talk was followed by an hour of networking and discussion mostly cut out of this video to bring it to 66-min length. Facililtators: Thia Bell, Don Metheny, Randy Prince of ENPN's excutive steering committee.
