The validation system is pretty straightforward: each problem set has a few requirements and if you complete 70% of the requirements, it's considered done. I would, however, recommend doing it until you get 100%, to avoid holes in your knowledge.

I’m currently doing the course, started a bit late. What I would recommend to people who have absolutely zero experience or knowledge of computer science and coding, just take your time with each lecture and problem set. It will feel overwhelming, try to take little notes here and there so you can absorb the information in another form without repeating the lecture video over and over. Also, Google is your friend. Not to say that you should copy someone for every detail, but instead look at the problem set you are working on, compare it to someone else, and actually try to figure out what you’re stuck on and determine what the correction is, and most importantly WHY it is the correction.

Just started this course along my software development bachelor's degree program. These courses ARE eligible for transfer credit btw. I have completed the first lecture and I'm astounded at the quality of these learning materials Harvard is offering for free, it is worth it, if you want an entry into the software development/ IT world this should be your *FIRST* stop absorb this course while it's available. I have heard how these classes are really good. After watching part of the first lesson I think it is better to play the videos back at .75 speed. It sounds more normal as he is a fast talker.

your right man. Best CS resource out there. It is literally taking the same class that Harvard students take as their first CS class. Minus the exams and the support structure but who there is a big enough support structure online. I would argue that some of the kids at Harvard probably get some answers from each other. Try doing the course completely on your own. Don't get hints at all for any assignment. will pay off in the end.
