Thanks for the video David! I'm a new astronomer in the Pacific NW and I was just observing Orion's nebula the last clear night I had about a week or so ago. What a great presentation to point out all the objects right next door that I had skimmed over. Thanks for putting these videos together!

Great video! I always learn so much and retain the way you describe these DSOs.

I was able to capture NGC 2024 - The Flame Nebula just last week using my very modest setup. Right next to Alnitak, the leftmost star in the belt.

David, I think you are a very good instructor and I never thought I'd get into astromany this way because of how you explain how to look into our universe! I can enough about how I love this tutorial!

I'm amateur star grazer and eye in the sky had enlightened me to the 100th power! I've just got a celestron 130eq reflector a week ago. Thank you for your info and I'm saving all this great information to reflect and refer to. Thanks again and I look forward to getting more education of our universe!

This is appealing both to a novice and an avid astronomer. The moment when you moved on to Iota Ori was the most interesting one for me. I also like that fact that you put distances next to object names, that adds a sense of perspective to it all. The current format is so amazing as it is allowing you to react quickly and inform quickly without any unnecessary effort on your side. The show is a great alternative to tv shows and documentaries as it is less artificial, more practical, not trying to dumb things down or look down on the viewer. And this is your advantage not only over tv but also over other astro shows on YT. I think your sub count might start exhibiting a bit of a snowball effect in the future, it always starts slowly and then skyrockets as more people are mutuall recommending it. One more thing - please keep the "talking head box" always on, the previous one without it was much less personal, it immediately reduced the "temperature" of the message. Also, one could easily drop the tv-ish "goodbye" at the end, this is YT, people are intelligent and aware that the vid has concluded. Looking forward to the next one, a little information about the currently visible Comet Catalina perhaps?

Hi David, love your channel and recommend it to others. Can't wait for a clear sky to have a look at this. Just wondering, did you make a slip-of-the-tongue at 3mins 13 seconds - you say "remember those three stars that form the Belt"... you mean the Sword, right? I don't mean to criticise; I've noticed you sometimes overlay text later to cope with updates or slips like this. Or maybe I'm wrong and you meant the Belt all along! Keep up the good work

Hi David
Thank you so much for uploading the videos.
I watch your videos regularly. BTW I have question for you, how can I find out the planet Mars on naked eyes? I am located in New York 42 North Latitude. Thanks again and keep posting to cheer up enthusiasts like us. -Shujon

The best nebula in the sky is the carina nebula which magnitude 1 compared to magnitude 4 for the Orion Nebula

Hi David, sorry for offtopic. I have a refracting telescope and a 90 degree diagonal mirror. Will I be able to identify Lunar objects, using it, or do I need to buy a "correct image" prism diagonal?
