The BEST day trip from Tirana, Albania 🇦🇱 ↓
Krujë, Albania! This ancient town was home to the national hero of Albania (Skenderbeg) and is where he fought off the Ottoman Empire, saving Albania and the west from further Ottoman expansion: making this the most historically significant and iconic towns in all of Albania!
Beyond the rich history here (including a 5th century castle totally intact!), Krujë has such a sweet charm to it, with its beautiful Old Town Bazaar (pro tip: get your Albanian souvenirs HERE!).
Even better: Krujë has similar views as the tourist-ridden towns of Berat and Gjirokastër, but is only a 45 minute and €1.75 bus ride away from Tirana.
