Being Israeli American is not an issue anywhere in Sri Lanka. None at all. Arugam Bay is a predominantly muslim surf town and they have menus in Hebrew for the Israeli surfers who come spend weeks and months there during the season.

Tips for western passport holders

Visa: its on arrival for most of the countries and suggestion is to apply online 24hrs prior

Restrooms : use of bidet shower is common, having toilet papers in bag would be ideal

Food: mostly rice and curry too spicy. KFC, Mc donald, pizzahut available in urban areas.

Transportation ; Bus, train, rent a car, try to go for uber or other app, through reservation

Lovely video. Just a couple of observations. Most dogs are completely wild:they have their own Community. Interesting that the dogs behave well. Petting is only if the dog is known to locals. My brother has pet dogs. Also, unless you want to see exotic animals in captivity, there is wild life everywhere. Buddhism does not distinguish between living and dead things In the same way as in Christian theology. So all life is respected by Buddhist( not to be confused with Buddhist priests who can vary in their understanding and practice of Buddhism. The people of most religions in Sri Lanka live a Buddhist lifestyle.
