Fun fact: dolphins breathe oxygen, they can spend a good amount of time on land as long as they are kept cool and wet in real life so that’s why they are like this in game

dolphins don't need water as much because they breathe through their lungs, they can hold their breath for 8 to 10 minutes, that's why they usually aren't really deep in the ocean. but the main reason for a dolphin to die is overheating or dehydration, which takes around 6 hours.
