The CopyCats

Some time in 1995 Danny McKnight (guitar) and Jack Graziano (bass) had a garage band going. They were getting together to jam but weren't playing any gigs. Danny worked with a friend at his day job named Frank Alfidi. When Danny mentioned that he was playing in a band Frank told him that his brother-in-law was guitar player, singer/songwriter Ned Thompson. Danny visited Ned at his day job and asked him if he'd be interested in getting together to play some music.
As it turned out he was, and the group started practicing together. Soon Danny started booking them in clubs and bars around the Hudson Valley. At some point it was decided that they would need a drummer and Danny called Phil Rounds, whom he also worked with. After a jam at Jack's Garage, Phil was asked to play an upcoming gig in Walden, NY. Danny named the band "The CopyCats" because almost all of the songs were covers (with the exception of a couple of Ned's originals).....and that turned out to be the band line-up for the next twelve years!
The CopyCats gigged regularly at local pubs, parties and events in the Hudson Valley and had a respectable following.
Around 2007, Ned became ill and had to leave the band. Since The Copycats wouldn't be the same without him it was decided, after 12 successful years, to end the band.
The remaining three members went on to play in later bands, but the legacy of those magic twelve years still lingers on.....
