I ski since I am 3years old, and I can tell you I am an over average skier. 15 years ago I was at the race there and a day after the downhill race the steif was open for public. So I drove it down a few times, directly out of the starting house.
hey man I can tell you, these guys are absolutely crazy! it was completely pure ice, and with ice I mean not ice witch you know from normal pists, no it was blue ice witch you know from skating!
With normal skiers you have no chance to survive.
since that experience they have all my respect, I mean I respect them before as well but you know in television it looks a little bit harmless but when you are in the starting house and you look down, you will sh*t in your pents...

Wow. This seems like a great alternative to laxatives.

The problem with watching these races is that you need to actually ride the track yourself so you realize what it's like. Everything looks so mellow on TV.

I skied the Streif 58 years ago. My advice: Sideslip the entire run.

My wife and I skied this run when we were in Austria. We skied it very, very slowly, and we made it down in about 30 minutes or so, wasn't so bad. Skiing it at this speed is just insane! These guys are not from this planet!

The deflection of the skis and their wobble transfering into his thigh in slow-motion was crazy! What a ski run!

Looking back on this - the Bode Miller 'wall-ride' on the safety barrier is still one of the most extraordinary bits of skiing I have ever, ever seen. Incredible!

1:33 HOLY SHIT, he's riding the fence! Even from my background of inline downhill, this course is gnarly as hell. Massive airs, straight into high g-force bumpy corners. Amazing. This is true downhill; I'm getting a rush of endorphins just watching this.

I'd faint within the first 5 seconds and roll down the rest of the slope as a giant snowball.

I already skied the Streif myself and it's just madness! The compression after the Mäusefalle jump is incomparable to anything, the pressure and forces on your body are killing you..
