This is so sad. No kidding, imagine the end of the world and this song would play for the last person who survives the disaster.

I can picture the isolation, walking around with no one in sight only this song to be your company, but oddly its the only company you need

It just hit me, how often has this song been used unironically?

Listening to this while the world collapse and drown in chaos and it won't be that bad. To hear this while you realize you will die won't hurt that much.

You survived the massacre. Yes, you. The only one out of 7 billion other souls. You tread towards the once beautiful, booming mall. Flooded, moldy cars sit abandoned in the parking lot. You enter through the broken glass doors and into the wave of water. A million thoughts enter your mind as you scan the empty shell of the mall for just something, anything. A piece of your long forgotten home. You think about your best friend...y’all would’ve graduated high school. Your parents and how they must’ve worried about you. Your friends and classmates from school. Everything fell into ruin. After everyone was gone, you had to live alone. You were slowly going crazy, hearing voices of your family and your friends, so you were going to end it all, and let nature run its course.

You picked up a wet Sticky Note with the words “I love you” scribbled on it. It was a bittersweet moment. You can see your best friend standing in the deep end. Your mom and dad are smiling with her. “We’ve missed you a lot.” They shine in a ethereal glow, so beautiful and alien. You hear the old, ancient song of Louis Armstrong crackling on the old PA system. You slowly walk into the deep water, collapsing in the arms of your family.

*Fin*

Edit: i know there’s some people who don’t have sisters, so I replaced it with best friend.

Also, Thank you so much for 1K likes!

Thanks for your feedback! :) I’m kind of a so-so writer. I can think it in my head but not write it down. I’m glad you enjoy it!

This is kinda creepy don't you agree? The flooded shopping center with this song playing as if some person has set up their home there.

Imagine hearing this play while you're half conscious and someone is dragging you by your foot through the abandoned shopping center.

The image doesn't fit. The sound designer in me thinks of the missing sounds: Water dripping from a damaged ceiling, the inners walls of the building creaking, the sounds being louder than normal because water carries sound, birds chirping in the distance...
A real post-apocalyptic vibe.

Imagine Somebody to Love by Queen being played in an empty area. That’d be lit.

Imagine this is a song towards the reveal of the new Fallout game

What was a thrifing city is now an empty husk. what used to glimmer with lights and hopes is now shrouded by loneliness and despair. Even animals somehow dont want to reocccupy the place. Sometimes, you can hear a song. An old song, with meaning that is a total opposite of what has become to humanity. Nobody knows where it comes from. Those who claimed to hear and found the source said that it comes from a an old radio, being played by an old man, who's always sitting with his face down

The enemy has been completely vanquished.
Your comrades long gone, you live a life alone in this empty shell of a city.
You don't even think of looking for other potential survivors.
Just the lonely music playing through your late friend's music player is enough.
Alongside the warm morning sunlight, showering you through the torn-down ceiling.
You make yourself comfortable, sitting atop a broken elevator, staring at the sky.
Regardless of everything, it's still a wonderful world, indeed.

At least the intercom system still works.

I feel as if the mall would “speak” during its life time. When it was eventually abandoned, there was talk of an “Amazon” building being built nearby. As the mall decayed, it played one last song. To remember the past, his dedications to society, everything. He knows that he was essential to growth as a species, but is now happily accepting the fact that he is no longer needed.

Dude this is actually so dark. The picture. It’s the apocalypse. You are drowning. Everyone you’ve ever known and loved is dead. This song plays over an almost broken speaker. You sit there as the water starts rising up to your face.
As the last note hits, you’ve already faded

You reach out into the darkness. The darkness grabs your hand.

What a wonderful world.

Depression, in music form.
Also this is reminding me of toy story for some reason...
