March composed by Christopher Frederick Eley, Director of Music of the Band of the Coldstream Guards from 1785 to 1800.

Performed the Band of the Royal Military School of Music, Knellar Hall.

The painting is a portrait of HRH Frederick Augustus, Duke of York in the uniform of the Colonel of the Coldstream Guards.

This march was also *borrowed* by the Hanoverian army (1790s) since the Duke of York was also the Prince-Bishop of Osnabruck (part of the Electorate), and there was a Hanoverian regiment raised/garrisoned in Osnabruck, and probably had the nickname "Regiment Herzog von York" (or something like that), although I do not remember which regiment it was, it's either the 2nd or 3rd Infantry.

Glorious and magnificient music. Composed during the American Revolutionnary War which was a defeat.
However ’d prefer the painting of Duke of Wellington though 😁
