Shining Fates will always be one of the most interesting Pokemon sets to ever release.

Coming out during the peak of Pokemon's return to popularity, Shining Fates ran into issues with scalping all over the place. Elite Trainer Boxes selling for 3 times MSRP enraged much of the community as demand seemed to be at a point that could not be reached.

However, a simple support message from the Pokemon Company quickly changed many opinions in the collecting space. Pokemon alerted hobbyists that they would make sure to meet demand with many of these products. This resulted in some of the larges reprints we have ever seen in the Pokemon TCG causing prices to crash to all-time lows.

Will Shining Fates ever be able to rebound? Let's talk about it!

I have the feeling that Crown Zenith is going to have a print run that'll resemble Shining Fates. Everyone will be scrambling in the beginning to get a product, then it will sit on shelves for months, especially with the long periods between products.

Pokemon needs to understand that they can't keep overprinting sets like they did to SFates and pokemon go. If they do then collectors will stop collecting and leave the hoddy. No one wants to display a 10$-20$ card in their display window.

This set will be crazy slept on. Especially for these kids who grew up in this era. Those kids will be teens to early adults. 10 years from now, this set will be Uber expensive. 5 years from now I can see this set being around $300-400 an ETB

I always felt shining fates was a dud set. Yeah it got shiny pokemon but a lot of them are less popular sword and shield pokemon, compared to hidden fates which has some amazing shinies in it.

Long term I think it will do well. Will be cool to open the Shiny Charizard in 4-5 years!

Picked up two Shining Fates ETBs at Walmart on Jan. 6 last week. Paid MSRP of $49.98.

I would love to see pokemon sealed product crash from these inflated prices on the secondary market for a while. A two years of everything from the S/S era just sit at MSRP.

Are you thinking Crown Zenith will go a similar route? I am hoping they print this set to demand because the set looks amazing and I am hoping prices stay sane throughout 2023.

Im okay with this one staying low.... I think it's fun to open and if it shoots up to 10$ a pack I won't want to open packs as much.

Crazy to see so much product in the wild. So glad scalpers are not making it anymore.

i think Q2/Q3 2022 was the last time i saw Shining Fates ETBs on retail store shelves. but you can still go to major retailer websites and order an ETB without any fuss.

Saw about 10 SF ETB’s at my local Walmart this morning. They also had a bunch of Charizard and Sylveon Celebrations collection boxes.
