A first for this channel, an interview with none other then Matt Mullenweg, the co-founding developer of WordPress and the founder of Automattic.

In this candid conversation, we talk about:
The future of WordPress
The new content editor Gutenberg
Why WordPress needed a new content editing experience
What this means for page builders
What to expect at the 2018 WordCamp US

This is actually the first interview I had ever done, and it was all put together in just a few days after I left a comment on Matt's blog inviting him on the channel.

All I can say is WordPress has an amazing future.

Thank you, Mr. Mullenweg and Mr. Preiser for an insightful, good, impressive view of WordPress and with Gutenberg developments. Very good of you, both.

Fantastic job Adam. You handled that interview with Matt like a seasoned veteran. A joy to listen to two genuine people discuss an exciting topic. I learned a lot!

Adam, thank you for bringing Mat! This interview couldn't come at a better time. Like Jim said, I was extremely skeptical about Guttenberg for the past 6 months and I also had the same sentiment of it wanting to kill website builders. It was refreshing to hear him explain the reality of what it is and also share what's in store for the future. This has totally shifted my mindset towards it and will make plans to implement it on all of our sites, however I will also wait 6+ months to do so to allow for it to mature and also for plugins and builders to catch up.

I haven't been the WP space for terribly long, and because of that I don't have a lot of history knowledge of Matt & WP... but what I've seen recently (this interview and another) he seems like a genuine dude.

Great interview Adam! Thanks for all the time and effort into this, really enjoyed it!

Once upon a time I had to learn write code. It was okay and exciting to know how to do but, it took a long time to build websites. Then along came WordPress and now Gutenberg. I will live happily ever after using them both. Loved this interview Adam! I have been considering teaching wordpress to kids in a community program I am building. I think I might give it a try after watching this interview to see what they come up with.

Many of these great tech guys are really humble in real life.

The Benevolent vs. "evil" talk on 13:03 made me giggle. In the minutes prior, Matt was perfectly sitting in between his two white fluffy pillows, for background the "sky" (painting), and his soft voice ... is like he was this angel speaking to us lol.

On a much serious note... I was a little apprehensive to use Gutenberg. I finally gave it a try about a month ago and it looks good, I also see that some of my beloved PAID plugins are integrating it so that part is very relieving to me. Thank you so much for guys for this interview and for WordPress, Matt

Wow, Adam, great video. Thank you so much for it, it was VERY important. Matt sure is a great guy, isn't he? He seems so genuine. You know, I have been really, really worried about Gutenberg. But Matt's demeanor, voice, and explanations just kind of exude confidence and trust in him. I went from being nervous to actually being stoked about it. Although, I still think I will wait about 6 months before actually building a site with it. Nice to know that Elementor will apparently fit right into it. Phase 3 and 4 will be REALLY interesting. Cheers and Thanks again for bringing this to us, Adam.

Great interview Adam and Matt, thank you. And oh my goodness Matt seems like a lovely human being and I love his approach to running the company. I like and use WordPress, and thought of it as a cyber juggernaut. After this interview it seems more human. I look forward to the next one!

Matt, just felt like I needed to give you a heads up, as I tested with Gutenberg for a month now and I think it's great. I am looking forward to the release tomorrow and hope people will eventually see the advantages and adapt. Thanks for all the work and good luck!
