The National Skills Commission Report reveals Australia is facing a massive skills shortage. According to the report, nearly a third of business sectors are facing serious worker shortfalls.
In fact, Australia’s skills shortages are the second highest in the OECD. Job vacancies have grown more than 40 per cent with over 300,000 roles waiting to be filled.
The government has responded by launching Jobs and Skills Australia in an effort to provide independent advice on emerging workforce needs and announced 180,000 new free TAFE places to encourage people to take up training… But is it enough?
Adam Jacobs, co-founder of talent matching platform Hatch, shares his insight on how small business owners can deal with the skills crisis.
