Celebrating Disability Employment Awareness Month at America's Shipyard

Every year for the month of October, Disability Employment Awareness Month is celebrated by our nation to reaffirm our commitment to ensuring equal opportunity for all citizens and to pay tribute to the accomplishments of men and women with disabilities who have contributed, continue to contribute, and wish to contribute to making the nation's economy strong.

This year's theme is "Don't Set Limited on Unlimited Potential" - a call-to-action for all to accept one another and work together, no matter what differences they may have.

At Norfolk Naval Shipyard, every single employee is a valuable asset to our nation and a member of our family - we salute you all for your service!

To celebrate Disability Employment Awareness Month, we invited Disability Awareness Committee Employee Resource Group President Daniel Freeh to share his personal journey in servicing our nation and what America's Shipyard has to offer fellow disabled personnel.
