I had such joint pain. It took me 2 hours to get moving each morning and I was experiencing increasing pain just walking the dog. I finally pushed for hormone therapy and my joint pain, along with other symptoms, completely disappeared! I feel 30 years younger!

Among many other things, I had bone deep aching and weakness in my legs. It got worse, not better, with exercise. It was like I had aged 15-20 years in a few months. I was actually kind-of bent over like a very old woman in the mornings. Sometimes I had to take the stairs one at a time like a toddler. I felt like my muscles were just melting away. My doctor tried to tell me it could just be normal aging. So frustrating and condescending - like I don’t know my own body. “Normal aging” doesn’t just drop on your head in a matter of months like these symptoms did. Less than a week after starting estradiol patches, my legs started recovering. It’s been almost three months now and my muscle tone has returned, I can exercise, I get out of bed and feel normal. My legs feel and function properly again. It was nearly miraculous! Don’t be afraid of replacing the hormones that your body is missing - it can be life changing.

I forgot to change my estrogen patch. Then thought I could go without it. 2 weeks later all my knuckles hurt so bad. I'm back on the patch 😅

After perimenopause year of symptoms ..I recently woke to a severe pain in shoulder..
Went to check ..it seems frozen shoulder is known to be a common occurence for menopausal women.
I thought to mention this even though an U.S showed calcification in tendons. I just want women to know ..the Dr's do not know or mention a connection which I have seen many online dr mention on research. Thanks for the info and work you do.

Thank you for this and for all the comments below. Good to know I am not alone! I am suffering horribly from this and am about to start HRT as I am at my witt's end. Thank you for also acknowledging that it's hard to move and get exercise when experiencing this type of pain. I used to be super active but then I hit this stage in perimeno and walking up the stairs is so painful. Everyone tells me to walk it off or just get more exercise ... 😵‍💫 I just got all my health checks done to make sure I'm a good candidate for HRT and I am so I just can't wait. I miss being active and not being in such pain. This post has helped me so very much you have no idea! I feel like everyone was blaming me for something I can't control. But now I have more tools to help. Yay!

4 months after my complete hysterectomy, this previous runner and hiker, couldn’t even get up off the ground due to the extreme pain from my joints and muscles. No supplements or pain killers were enough to get rid of it. It was the final straw to start on HRT 2 months ago and within 2 weeks I noticed major improvement in the joints and all the other symptoms of menopause. I had resisted HRT for months but the joint pain was the final push over the edge to get it. So glad I made that choice to start HRT. Thanks for your videos, they helped me make a good decision for me.

I started HRT almost a week ago and 🎉the difference is impressive. The doctor told me that it may take up to 3 months to start seeing an improvement. Feeling great.

Horrible upper arms pain and thighs happened literally sudden. I was barely able to turn in bed from side to side without crying in pain at 45 years old. The doctor diagnosed me with Polymyalgia rheumatica and prescribed Prednisone. Pain was gone, but when I stopped the Prednisone...it was back again. Then, a few months ago, out of the blue, I developed bilateral tendinitis to the point that I couldn't use my right arm.
NO ONE told me these are symptoms of low estrogen.

I think I need to move to hrt! I have been anti inflammatory diet for over a year at least of not 2 and I was a competitive weight lifter and completely have fallen apart. Ruled out everything medical. Periods are wonky and not on schedule anymore. It has to be perimenopause causing this debilitating soreness and weakness. I feel like I went from the best shape of my life to barely able to move.

I knew it, I knew it’s perimenopause !
At 48 I come down the stairs like I’m 80.Sideways one step at the time.I took anti-inflammatory, turmeric and boswellia for a year to finally give up.I knew what I have is not treatable with antiinflamatories .
But not until the ugly depression episodes creeped in just before period I realized this is hormone related.
The problem is nobody wants to start hrt on me bc I still have regular periods 😢

HRT helped me almost overnight with my joint pain and stiffness... The supplements a little in the early stages

HRT not FDA Approved is a hilarious statement to me mostly because while the FDA has been efficacious in many ways, has also failed miserably in more ways than we can count. Couple that along with the woefully under-researched aspects of Menopause and we have a nearly unimportant statement - though i realize it is made because of several reasons for stating HRT as a possible remedy. With all that, i recently started bioidentical HRT at age 55 and after having suffered joint pain for over a year, in a matter of just under a month, the pain and stiffness have pretty much disappeared. And for someone who is otherwise healthy and loves walking on average 8 to 10 miles a day as part of stress relief, HRT has given me my life back in this regard.

In peri-land. 44. I have had my hormones checked 3x in the past 6 months and the amount of fluctuation is unreal. I am experiencing more aches and pains and lower back pain. I have a healthy lifestyle, and take supplements. Had comprehensive labs done. Doing PT. Started acupuncture. I realize the effects of unstable hormones, but the timing is tricky, as I don’t think taking a BHRT is wise for me, while in peri. I can see post menopause. But it is frustrating the up and down. Fortunately, many women I know are not struggling. I just wish I knew when I was 11, that painful periods wasn’t normal and terrible acne in 20s is an imbalance. I am doing the best I can for now.

I think you should include a mention a No Sugar added diet. This has significantly reduced my aches and pains. And hopefully using the supplements you suggested will help even more. Thank you so much

So thankful for this video. This has been my worst symptom and I went through this with my doctor, she said joint aches and pains are not a symptom of menopause. She is also against HRT...

Thank you for sharing this information. I developed plantar faciitis in my late 40's and had trouble walking. Swimming helped strengthen my legs in different ways, but sometimes I suffered from back pain instead. I stopped swimming during Covid and I was diagnosed with a different inflammatory problem with my feet, my right shoulder was frozen for two and now my left one has been frozen for six months. I follow an anti-inflammatory diet, I take anti-inflammatory supplements, I have a huge collection of ointments and heating pads and I'm at my wits end. My gyno says I'm fine, my acupuncturist is very concerned. Women friends have made the connection between estrogen and joint pain, and Kaiser docs deny the connection. I really had to complain repeatedly for a prescription for HRT, which I will pick up and try soon. I really hope it works.

This is a great video and what you say is absolutely true, at least it was for me. Going on hormone replacement therapy made a big difference in the pain in my joints as did glucosamine and chondroitin. Another symptom I had which was helped by HRT and which I wish you would address, is panic attacks. I started having them out of the blue during menopause and they also subsided after HRT.

Everyone says HRT is what helped but what about women who can’t take or tolerate HRT? Is there a solution to this issue without using HRT?
