I figured it out in my life. If you are ever vulnerable to a woman cheating on you, you have really missed the big picture.

Women are very replaceable and often you will get an upgrade if you are smart enough.

So let them show their true colors and mess around, it puts you closer in the long run towards someone that wouldn’t

You're a good man, Robb. As usual, I really appreciate the introspection. Fidelity isn't a human atribute... I read a study years ago done in England that suggested that more than 20% of children are the result of affairs. I raised my daughter myself from 3 years old. I found out much later that my best man was having some fun with my wife at about the same time she got pregnant. No, I never did, nor would I ever, do any testing. Anyway, I have lived away from the USA for 22 years and my daughter is thriving. Your son will too. My aventures in Thailand have been pretty negative só far...I hope I can work on my head and turn it around. I'm 75, só it may be difficult to pick up Thai easily...already forgetting Portugues 😅

If infidelity is really that rampant, that would be a major roadblock toward the idea of dating in Thailand. That's about the biggest deal breaker imaginable. Do not pass Go, do not salvage the relationship. Instant out the door.

My working life felt like a daily battle with only relief on weekends and holidays … now we’re retired in our ‘go-go’ stage it’s just pure contentment with daily feelings of surprise I suppose that this late in life everything has become so smooth…we’re enjoying this stage despite knowing that we will soon face the ‘slow-go’ and ‘no-go’ years….but perhaps we’ll feel ready by then.

Thanks rob for the confirmation of my own thaughts, no family ties at home, left permanently 21years ago and have never left thailand, not even a visa run, had previous 4years experiece before meeting my wife, and have been very happy living here, moreso now when you see the state of the west, so glad i got out, thanks for the vid.regards.

America isn't for retirement. It's a great place to work and earn money to build wealth. Once retired, it's better to find a less costly environment to live/retire.

Good to see your perception hasn’t been swayed by emotions. I am a recent American 68 years old, arrived on Phuket for about 9 months ago. I’m not into the bars as I don’t drink ( I really landed in the wrong spot ), although I love the Andaman Sea. I’ve already had a few “relationships” where $$$ and support were the only real concern in the women’s eyes. Been there done that already in the US, not interested here. I was thinking maybe this is just a Phuket thing. But according to your thoughts it seems more of a “national phenomenon” than I thought. I am thinking of relocating for the reason of finding a better outcome in relationships but it sounds like it’s just a cultural norm….. Your thoughts…???

Cheating is just an irrational, emotional response that cannot be controlled (weak, low virtue person).

It’s almost the same reasoning as a person on a healthy diet that sneaks in a few donuts here and there.

If you can find a partner that can willingly sacrifice pleasure for the longer term good, there is a much higher chance that they wouldn’t cheat imo. You can see signs of it in other aspects of their life.

Also if you ever catch the woman lying to you in Thailand (about anything) just assume she’s a cheater and accept it 😅
