Control Rig Tutorial: The basics of creating procedural animations in UE4 & UE5

preview_player
Показать описание

A tutorial covering some basics of control rig to create procedural animations. It may seem complex or overly convoluted at first, but has a wide range of applications that aren't possible through keyframed animations. Most people who have a basic understanding of UE4 or UE5 should be able to follow along either using the provided mesh or applying the same methods to their own model.

Comment if you have any questions or suggestions for other similar areas to cover in future tutorials.

This might honestly be the single best video for animations I have watched.

Wow! Probably the best UE5 tutorial I have ever seen. I have been trying for almost a year now to make a system where the gun recoil is controlled inside the gun and both the hands IK to the gun. There are no tutorials on this anywhere on YouTube (only gun IK tutorials where the gun is attached to the right hand). I would owe you my life if you made a tutorial on this topic. Thanks again for the great videos.

Nice tutorial! Would be nice if you could give us some details about the character movement system like we have seen in this tutorial.

Great share! Love to implement this in my own game! Also in the end, how your character went walking from wide to small beams, incredible ♥

Dope tutorial man, love seeing more use cases for control rig, i feel it's very powerful. Although i must say, I feel the weapon recoiling is somewhat pointless when the gun is attached to a socket to a player model which then will have some sort of recoil movement playiing actually moving the gun

Thanks to share your experiences that money can not buy. ❤

any chance you could do a tutorial on how doing this to a weapon then translates to a third person character? how to make the character move with the weapon? would you always modify the gun for the animation or the character himself for the recoil animation?

this tut is really good btway

This was very helpful. Im currently trying to get a procedural auto touch of surfaces in front of my character to make the actor's hands find and touch walls. Very difficult actually.

great tut i wish they were more fps style control rig tutorials. I have the fps procedural animations now powering the right hand and its looking good playing on top of my ads system thanks. Also is it just me that cant figure out how to have to have multiple con rigs like arms and gun work with each other for reloads, i still have to use blender for reloads and would rather do all my fps animating in unreal

Havent tried this approach yet so I don’t know how pivot points interact and where you placed yours but I imagine you’d get an easier time achieving more natural movement if you set the pivot point of the weapon to be where the weapon pivots in your grip, right under the hammer.

It would be great if you make a hit reaction tutorial with control rig. And also thank you for this tutorial.
