The problem with this one is that it's actually too plausible to be true, like it was scientifically engineered in a lab specifically to sound exactly like something that David would have done as a child.

like Lee, I thought it was a lie. Like his teammates, I so wanted it to be true.

It was a lie. David never went to a disco.

Wait, he put his suitcase _on to his coat_ ?

What a brazen lie.

Obviously a lie, written by someone else. David would never have written a sentence with a dangling participle! His mum and dad were not aged ten when David went to a disco (if he ever went to a disco! 😄)

A school disco with a briefcase - is he Will Mackenzie?

1984: George Orwell, Van Halen, David Bowie and David Mitchell with an alarm clock leaving a disco early.

I'm surprised David didn't pick up on the dangling participle on his card and say that his mum and dad weren't aged ten when they let him go to a school disco.

David being 10 years old with a briefcase 💼 - like a little Professor: other 10 year olds just have a satchel 😂

0:58 I was thinking that before, and I was not surprised Lee did not suggest that scenario as first possibility.

I bet the writers gave David this story as a lie, where in fact, it all happened but David was too embarrassed to admit it.

I thought it was true until Lee said he doesn't. Lee knows David too well something something, I forgot how I was going to end this sentence

Why did Lee not pick up on the grammatical error - as it stands the parents are age 10.

No one asked him how his mother was able to come and pick him up early? There were no cell phones back then. That's when I knew he was lying.

How would he have danced with a briefcase and a loose alarm clock bouncing around in it?
