I hope they adjust the story. It's definitely pretty weak right now. And theres a constant exact same theme across all their quests that is both exhausting and dull with how its executed (mostly in that it shoehorns you in to always agreeing with it).

And thats on giving up, and forcing yourself and others to accept death and inevitability.

Over and over.

90 percent of the long side and companion quests do this. Yinlin, as soon as she was ready to move on, we had to force all the people of that village to move on to (whether they were mentally ready to or not). And we were forced to say it was a good thing. Making me not really enjoy how that ended.

With Changli, were forced to tell that one boyfriend to give up on saving his girlfriend. Whether we want to or not. Heck, were supposed to condemn him for trying to save her even. And it heavily glosses over Changli sacrificing her life force with her powers, and doesnt do a good job explaining that or even resolving it. Making the quest not feel as good to me.

And various other examples. Not just a constant in my face with the negative themes, but not even well executed.

And then take into account the terrible English voice acting (Yangyang is a sin to voice acting), and overall the story has just been a real miss for me on most areas. With a couple shining beacons of exeption.

Dont get me wrong, tragic themes can be good. When done well. But i absolutely wouldnt over use the same tragic beat over and over either. It gets repetitive and loses its effect really fast.
