The Reenactors - A documentary on medieval reenactors

This film is a documentary about a large reenactment in sweden.
Reenactors are both historians, craftmen and entertainers, but are often judged as geeks in strange outfits. This is the story of Thomas and Maria Neijman who was leading the project; Battle of Wisby 2011.
The film is roughly translated and has optional english subtitles.

650 years ago Gotland was traumatised. A Danish army, consisting of knights and professional soldiers invaded Gotland, and the peasants of the island gathered to resist the invaders. Thousands of them were slain.

The project Battle of Wisby honored the fallen and their sacrifice for freedom by reenacting the battle and putting up a big military camp outside the walls of Wisby.

Thanks, you made me shiver! In this documentary there's everything of a reenactor's life ... the will and the efforts to do all in the best way possible in spite of the little spare time ... the joy to live the hystory with your family and your children, even if is sometime difficult (or impossible) be able to match children's and adult's desires ... the thrill (or fear!) of a battle ... the awareness you're doing something special. Really good job on capturing the up and downs of organizing such an event. As a beginner re-enactor and a veteran organizer of conventions I completely relate with the toilet sabotage moment :/

Can you do subtitles? This looks like a great film. I am researching a costume based on Gotland Vikings. My Danish is not good yet! I loved the way you all undressed to show the undergarments. Even without a translation it all looks good. What was being said about the seams? Thanks any way fir sharing. Tak!

When I see the "dead" bodies, I am very moved, and think how horrible this must have been. I have myself also sung the requiem they are singing. I want to weep.
