I am in the UP of Michigan and I built my house with 12 inch poured walls. I did this all by myself, I can heat the house for under 500 a year. Pastor you are so right

Adobe homes last 100-200 years and its mud and straw! Rebuilt one in NM that was 150 years old, found two hidden rooms my aunt didn't know was there.

I been a general contractor for almost 10 years now. I been working in construction for about 18 years I work mostly with wood. I take pride in my work. I can do everything from setting kitchen cabinets to framing a home. I have experience, with electrical, and painting. I specialize mostly in home remodel, and not new construction. I feel i have been fairly fortunate, and successful in my business. I am blessed. But, when it comes to concrete vs wood. It all depends where you live. You see more concerte homes in places with less trees, and you see more wood home built in places where more trees Weather, and natural disasters also plays a factor. Wood homes are better for earthquakes, and concrete is better for environments of hurricane conditions, or even termite damage. There is a reason why northern Europe builds their homes from wood, and south east Asia builds out of concrete. BTW pressure treated wood does stop termites. I know. I am from Hawaii, and termites is a problem here.

Thank you Pastor. Praise the most high Yah that you can speak about your experience over two decades. Block sure does put a hurting on your body if you are not fit for it. Nice thing is you can always build as you go as long as the mortar doesn't freeze when it's green. Can't do that with wood...

Done all 3 poured walls, mason block and wood. It all depends on the price difference right now and the availability of the products. I like doing block work but at times I don't have the time to get it done. Yah Bless

Hey Now, Pastor D, Always a pleasure to have a moment to hear some truth. Yes, I concur and especially now with the resent escalation of wood prices. Concrete/brick have lower maintenance cost. Seal it up insulate, trim it up and enjoy. luv yall c ya later

I helped my son and daughter-in-law build their home in New Mexico with bales of hay, covered by adobe. Heating and A/C costs are minimal. A bale of hay will stop a .308 or 7.62 round!

Certainly sounds like concrete is a wise way to build. Thank you for sharing your experience, Blessings Pastor

I thought I had some tough hands (concrete work/diesel tech) but let me tell you don’t mess with a masonry dude. That shit will tear your hands up my masonry dude told me I needed to wear gloves and I was like nah I’m good I do slot of concrete work. Boy oh boy was I wrong, I had cracks runnin through my hands and bleeding after two days! 🤘🏻🤘🏻 young people listen to our old folks lol.

Wifes from Dubrovnik, Croatia. Goin there is so nice. Every home is block outer frame and terra cotta block walls. Pretty cool to see. And yeah out here in Cali everything this T1-11, constantly replacing pieces.

The carpenter bee's are the one's that barrow hole's in wood. Some people have there ground treated with a termicide before they lay the concrete to prevent any termite activity. But you are correct with the masonry block that last for eternity.

I do pest control ...he's definitely rite !!! Listen termites will eat your house so fast if your home made out of wood ..see thats the catch with these houses they building now for 250k ...at the end you will spend a xtra 25k in repair damage ... Not to mention value of your home goes down

Got MAN hands for sure I'm a builder. Both are good both are heavy and if not put up right they will kill someone. The story of the three pigs tell you whats more Durable, but hey much respect to who so ever builds.

How much for yall to build a 1000 sq ft concrete home with a basement and garage? Give me an estimate range. Input from anyone seeing this comment is appreciated as well. Thank in advance.

Hemcrete, hemcrete is bug proof, fireproof, obviously waterproof as well.
Also the oldest temple made by man is hemp made, and further more,
You can make anything with the hemp plant, NOT JUST CLOTHES OR FUEL, A.N.Y.T.H.I.N.G

Cool. If you could see my hands, or my sons, you'd know the deal here. I prefer reinforced block till I'm at least two foot out of the ground. They make lag bolts and hurricane ties for a reason. We can build to ignore 200 MPH straight line winds easy with the proper hardware. Love your channel
