Any of these businesses, if you want to run them correctly without being scammed by onsite manager and your employees, you need to be involved in day to day and be on site checking things often. You don’t try to run these businesses remotely, you’ll get scammed left and right. If you want to be respected by your managers/supervisors you must know more about the ins/outs of the business than they do so you can lead and manage them correctly. Buying any business is the easy part; don’t buy anything you know nothing about and expect to outsource everything to your manager or team lead in these types of businesses. If they never see you show up in day to day, problem solve, lead, make them better leaders and triple check their work - then it’s all going come crumbling down on you. Don’t listen to these wall talking influencers.

I am a painter, my father is the owner. He is a master painter. We have 3 or 4 really good employees. we can trust them. Finding good painters to my knowledge is NOT easy. and if you fuck up, it costs you. just like with anything else.
