LG StanbyMe Deep Dive Review (in 2025)

This is the LG StanbyMe. An LG TV Screen powered by WebOS, on an adjustable stand with a wheel base making it perfect for moving around your home. Over my time with this product I’ve come to realize that it’s really great for very specific needs and misses the mark on a couple others. Great review. I just got this TV. Another answer to “who is this for, and why not just use an IPad”. 1. Outdoor terrace use when a projector isn’t feasible. 2. There isn’t a 27” IPad. If there were it would be $5k at least.

I'd respectfully disagree. On the sole decision of buying this as a small business owner. I was on the edge considering whether to buy a TV for my meeting room and my personal office when the Stanbyme came into the picture. I use this as an android user, Casting my tab ultra onto it allows me to touch the lg screen as if it's a giant samsung android device, so there's no loss of functionality there. It's perfect because when my staff enters my room, instead of pivoting my tablet screen to them, I cast it onto my screen and get my job done. When clients enter I roll it Into the meeting room and do the same thing. So far it's serving my purpose, and I'd say this device maybe better off used for business purposes more than one may think

This currently sells for $999 at Best Buy. I love the idea of rolling it into the kitchen to watch tv while I cook, rolling it outside or a spare room to work out, rolling it into our spare room when we have guests. Hoping I can pick it up on a good deal for Black Friday.

I feel like it’s great for people who don’t watch much tv, but want a device that’s bigger than tablets, and easier to move around even in the standing life style - since an i pad can’t stand so high in the middle of the ground. But it is a shame that some accessibility features a little laggy.. and its resolution is a bit short coming 😓

I have an iPad on a stand but still searching for a stand that matches the quality of this, it’s beautifully designed and hopefully others follow with better offers or LG release upgraded versions..

I really love the idea of this. But after a few frustrating demos at Best Buy and reading up on it. It simply isn’t worth the money. It works pretty badly. If they make an updated version with better specs, I’ll be all over it. Cause it is a convenient device

Questions.... limitations? Alternatives?
1. Does it do screen mirror. Can I stream from my Android or Iphone?
2. Does it use Playstore as well or are you limited to just the apps in the LG store.
3. Are there a lot of apps available as my wife wants to use it for exercising and some come with playstore apps.

Great review. I am a senior and I love the size thats the reason I bought it. So it is good for a senior citizen customer with poor eyesight thats a good market. I probably would not use the fancier apps anyway. I just got it from best buy 899.00 black Friday …wish me luck.

Can you conect a windows computer and use the touch screen to control it? I would like to know how good this is as a touch screen, like if it has multitouch, and if it responds quickly in windows

This is not a TV because it doesn't have an atsc, so you can't watch local shows. I was thinking about buying this myself because it has a big screen but decided against it because of it. It's just a big tablet and not a TV. I bought a 14.6-inch screen s8 ultra tablet and a Sylvox 15.6-inch screen portable battery TV instead.
