Favorite hearth cards have gotta be (no order): wayside inn (you're on the money, just feels so cozy, ) tavern songs, charming friend, storyteller, and crop rotation. Tavern songs is super nice because I feel like turns can make or break on a search action, charming friend is one of the most interactive non-campaign effects in the game, storyteller has won me like 4 games, and crop rotation is amazing for messing with people's powers.

My favourite Hearth card is Fabled Feast. It's possible to whiff on it if you don't rule any other Hearth cards but if you rule at least 3, you can often seriously hurt another players economy! I've been lucky enough to use it in a way that stopped a pesky opponent from competing with me for The Banner of the People's Favour. Other notable mentions include Memory of Home (for the reasons you mentioned), A Round of Ale (changes the game for everyone at the table), Book Binders (especially if you are the Chancellor), and Travelling Doctor (for reasons similar to Hospital).

I want to buy the core game and many people suggested me that I only need to buy Marauder Hirelings pack & Hirelings box to have rich 2 player experience.
