Watch this detailed video to find out how to bypass the washing machine water level sensor.

For decades now, washing machines have become an indispensable fixture in many homes. In fact, for some people, I can't imagine how clothes were cleaned before they invented washing machines.

Nowadays, a quick visit to the laundry, and you could wash your entire wardrobe in a few hours.

With continual innovation in technology, washing machines will tend towards higher efficiency and automation in the coming years. However, for now, we have to settle with manually bypassing the level sensor.

This is the best video I've watched so far. I bought all new appliances a few years ago when we moved into a new house. I did not know my washer was an HE. I had never heard of an HE except for front loads. The sales person never mentioned it to me. I just discovered the low fill about a month ago and thought there was something wrong with my settings. NO! It's the crazy lunatic greeners who have done this to us!! Dishwashers that don't clean unless you run them for 2+ hours, etc. So, now I will see if I can adjust a screw to increase the water level. Thank you for this helpful video!!

In need of a new washer as the drum of my 20 yr old whirlpool washer is rusting. I Had no idea that most of the new washers use auto sensing water levels when I started searching for a washer. All of the reviews show everyone complaining that not enough water is used. Can't believe we are all here searching for a way to bypass the sensor to allow more water to be used.

Wet clothes before washing to make them heavier for more water in wash, or use the sheets and bulky setting for everything. I hate my HE machine and will buy an old, used Kenmore when this one dies.😁

So basically add bulk (towel, sheet/linen); wet laundry before starting machine (increases weight, pour water on top of laundry before start), put on "Bulky" setting OR just return it for a machine with manual size settings. Hey washing machine manufacturers, this is NOT helpful or progress!!

I'm 2 minutes into the video. Get to the fucking point! I better get answers. If I watch this whole video with no answers I'm going to be pissed.

This right here is why we need the dislike count.

I am having the opposite issue. Mine fills the machine with way too much water and takes four times the amount of time to wash thus negating any high efficiency this machine was supposed to have. How do I stop this from happening or is this intentional?

I'm going to do everything possible to keep my old top-loading, high fill, agitator, stainless steel tub, no lock top machine working until the day I die. All the negative aspects of the so-called HE machines cancel out any imagined savings. I can't believe manufactures are continuing to make these unpopular inefficient washers.

The Water Level Sensing device makes my machine take longer to do a load of clothes. The idea that it is more eco friendly is a bunch of hogwash. In a top load with no level sensor I could expect to take about 20 to 25 minutes to do a load of clothes. Now because of the dumb idea my washing machine take an hour or longer to do a load of clothes. I want a regular American top loader normal washing machine. How can I bypass the level sensor. I know that I can control module for the level sensor can be take out and be replaced. But I just want to simply do away with the Level Sensor. And get back to having 20 minute wash cycles..
