🇷🇺 Soviet Russian ShM-41 gas mask dated 1949 between July and September size 2, manufactured by Yaroslavl

the ShM-41 gas mask was developed around 1941 and was a replacement over the older ShM-1 gas mask. This mask differs from the ShM-1 in that it features fully integrated Tissot tubes and an improved valve assembly.

this mask is now in the Industrial D2gu kit, which includes an ShM-41 facepiece, a Type A carrier, a hose, and a Strela filter.

there is not much actually known about the D2gu kit, but I believe it to have originated around the 1960s

the facepiece of this ShM-41 is in unfortunate condition, but it shouldn't be too hard to restore the hardware

it is interesting that the early ShM-41 masks featured the lot numbers on the back of the mask like on the older ShM-1 masks

I had a few of the green kits complete I found a chest full of them deep underground in a bunker in Poland no shit I still have one I use the hose for my German 1942 rubber canvas mask I love it it’s awesome anyway I was made aware that’s these old Russian kits have asbestos in the filter pack so unless you know you know I wouldn’t risk it 😝 but then again I’m a guy using a Ww2 German mask that had an asbestos can on it with a hose that was used on a mask with an asbestos can hah hah hah, I washed the crap outta that hose and mask got a fresh air filter can and it’s ready to go nice video broski

This yellow filter is not military filter. This is old type yellow ''STRELA'' industrial filter for Acid gases, made in 1965.
