Those of you saying it couldn’t possibly cost $10K have never had this hobby. I have one that without any upgrades costs about $4600. With upgrades you’re easily tacking on another $4000 if you’ve upgraded the engine, suspension or body components. If you mill your own parts it can be a lot cheaper but that means you need the machinery to do it right. Look up 1/5 scale or 1/4 scale trucks and truggies and their parts. Stuff adds up. A typical Almost-Ready-to-Run setup with radio won’t cost over $4000 but it’s all of the modifications and additional pieces that do. Not to mention that much like RC helicopters, things don’t break on their own. Usually there are a series of things that need to be replaced when something breaks.
