EP119 Five Battles; Shuna's Evolution

Reviewing TenSura LN Vol 21, Part 6 of 12: The Labyrinth's gauntlet-style battle officially began, with Ramiris planning for Dino to be killed five times. Dino's team clearly had no desire to fight and faced consecutive defeats. Dino was successively taken down by Beretta, Apito, and Kumara, but this was Dino's way of apologizing. During the battle, Apito evolved and successfully inherited the position of Insect Queen from Peliod.

Ramiris's persistence in continuing with Dino’s defeats even puzzled the Monster Federation's executives. In truth, Ramiris simply wanted Dino to regain his spirit and break free from Feldway's control. At this critical moment, Shuna awakened, successfully evolving and obtaining the Ultimate Skill: Shrine Maiden of Guidance.

The author does a really good job over time showing how subtle but incredibly mindful and strategic especially long lived beings can be.

Guy, Elmesia, Ramiris, the true dragons, the angels of origin, the other primordials, zelanus, even milim and many others

They all have their moments where they are really cunning or astute. Even when some of their base personalities might usually appear to goofy or not very serious. Its one of my favorite things and makes those character feel real. They are never stupid for the sake of it. When something is genuinely confusing or surprising to them its because its really that unexpected.

Lastly, oh i cant wait for Shuna to show off next time!

This episode was really a contest on how much dino could suffer, but ramiris really had things planned out and finally glad to see dino comming back to rimuru’s side, even though he was a spy he was still under control so glad to see him be back. Also didn’t expect shuna to get an ultimate skill but really glad she did she is also a very important character in the story and glad the author gave her something to do in her own way, and lastly really hope zegion mops the floor with Vega can’t wait for the next episode
