I went to elementary through high school one grade behind Chris. He wss always an amazing player. So glad he has had such success, well deserved!

For me this is the first new Selmer tenor with a great tone for jazz, that Selmer have produced over the last 50 years. It's a great choice for cats doing ten thousand dollar jazz gigs.

Sounding awesome! At 0:56 he says he loves the color of it. I don’t think he’s referring to the sound as translated in the French legend, but to the actual lacquer color.

I just got my Selmer on sale, it's not a Supreme, but if you get a chance to get one new, do it!!!! just like Chris said, when you lay into it, to barks and does not let up. Just try Low the intonation is perfect. Thank you Selmer.

Selmer rocks! This tenor player won’t be rushing out anytime soon to buy the awesome Supreme because my Reference 54–that I purchased new—plays so otherworldly. If my Reference is ever stolen or lost, I would not hesitate to buy the latest and greatest Selmer because they reign “supreme” in the world of saxophones. Price is no object if the instrument plays the music I hear in my head. That is all.

It seems to me that playing a saxophone is about more than the sound everyone hears. For me it’s about how it sounds to me and how makes it me feel; it’s what I play for and if that’s a good feeling then I’ll most likely play better as a result.

I have an old sax that makes me feel good because I’m playing a bit of history. I also have a new sax that makes me feel good because it takes care of intonation and frees my mind up to think about how I’m playing. This guy likely sounds good on any sax, but I’ll bet there is just a subset of them that makes him feel good too. I’m not quite so cynical that a good player will take a contract purely based on the money - after all, you have to play it day in, day out…

Chris would sound just as good on a Bundy!

I got to try one the other day. I didn't sound like that. ;-)

(Seriously, though, great horn.)

Obviously Chris sounds beautiful on this thing. But the thing about Chris is he would sound the exact same on ANY saxophone. The sound comes from the player, not the gear. The saxophone itself has very little impact on a person's sound, with mouthpiece and reed having the most impact. I'm sure the supreme sounds incredible, but it's nowhere near good enough to warrant spending $16K CAD

I hope you were well compensated for this promo, because I have to say I like your sound better on your older horns 🎷🎷🎷
