I'm like ~100% sure SEGA never sent any letters to this guy.

this has got to be the strangest story in gaming news I've seen all year, and I've been following the Amico stuff.

This was a scam from the get-go. The intent was to abscond with as much money as possible, and it will work, chargebacks or not, they will pocket a decent amount of change. They should be arrested.

They are changing the name: They should call it SuperScammer

They want you to fell sorry for them, by claiming they're being unfairly prosecuted.

I feel like they want sega to shut them down so they can keep the money and blame sega

Unless this is an official release from Sega. I don't believe anything these people say.

Normally there are no chargeback fees for SEPA at all, a certain percentage of chargebacks is considered normal and is just calculated into the system.

Unless someone really screws up and starts receiving a very large number of chargebacks, then that's usually like a handful EUR plus a couple percent per transaction not even that wild compared to what he collected off each preorder.

Getting shut down by Sega seems like a vital part of the scam. It's what you call an Exit Strategy and it allows them an opportunity to fold up the table and walk away.

Man the dev dude just looks like a scammer. Hes dirty and looks like the kind of guy that would run random call scams for gift cards. I seriously doubt Sega contacted them at all. I got the email and why put a pic riding a brand new Harley?

This reminds me of Fonzie/Goddel of Water Melon over Paprium. The exact, same antics and flood of bull$hit. The Internet is full of these jokers.

Call it something like "Dream Dendy" and you're golden.

I don’t know why but I find this story highly entertaining. I mean it sucks for anyone scammed but these scammers are just… like watching a trainwreck.

The guy lives in a humble apartment but claims it has a Lambo to sell.... damn, this was a very elaborate attempt to scam retrogamers

sega themselves could have made something better but didnt
instead let fans get ripped off by overseas scammers; then publicly saying "we are not a retro company"

Are we sure Sega is even aware of this project? Also, I thought he was renting the lamborghini. He certainly didn't know how to drive it...
