Sanshoku don is a colorful and tasty dish made with seasoned Japanese chicken "soboro", tender scrambled eggs, and blanched spinach served on top of hot and fluffy Japanese rice. It's tasty, filling, and perfect for dinner and lunchboxes!

INGREDIENTS:

Scrambled Egg
- 3 medium egg
- ½ tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 pinch salt

Chicken Soboro
- 150 g ground chicken
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp sake - see note
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp sugar

For the Greens
- 60 g spinach
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp white sesame seeds

Assembly
- 2 portions cooked Japanese short-grain rice
- 1 tsp red pickled ginger - optional

Hi Yuto! I wanted to say a big thank you for your contribution to japanese food availible on youtube. I came across your chanel after i zoned in on a few others and noticed your english accent. I was immediately impressed that the recapies you share are for the most part compatible with availible ingredients in the uk. A real bonus! While I don't mind getting some ingredients online, it's great to be able to get most of them at supermarkets.

I read your bio and I have sort of had the opposite journey to you - I have long been obsessed with japanese quisine while being very disconnected to it by location and i know exactly what you mean about its lack of availability here. I was recently faced with having to take my diet more seriously due to high blood pressure in my 40s and decided that this would be the time i swap to a japanese diet and benefit from the japanese food ethic.
