Controlling Google Contacts with Script from AppSheet App || AppSheet Explained

Jared asked how he could use a script integrated inside an AppSheet app to manage his Google.Contacts entries. I put together a very basic sample app demonstrating how this works.

Here's the question... Can 'Google Contacts' be a native data source for a Google AppSheet app? If no, then why the heck not.. come on Google. You own both products and they should be fully integrated with each other within AppSheet's no-code functionality. Thoughts anyone?

On the other hand, if we use like a shared scripts folder, if someone writes an "Evil script" or drops in some evil lines of code that can take your data or mess with it.. we should be cautious about that

I'm trying to create a contact but i haven't been able to do it yet.

In the execution console I get the following error:
Exception: You do not have permission to perform that action.
(I did grant permissions the first time I run the function).
