Conservation of Energy Including Work Done by Nonconservative Forces

The more general situation of conservation of energy when there are nonconservative forces doing work is looked at. The way this is included in the equation for conservation of mechanical energy is discussed, and then several examples are looked at. The last example is a problem that has both gravitational and spring potential energy as well as work done by friction, putting all the ideas together.
