Don't forget Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed because Japan was with the Nazi and they bombed Pearl harbor. I noticed everyone misses out that part and make out like Japan were the victims.

I recommend reading "The Bomber Mafia" by Malcolm Gladwell. It goes into great detail about the strategic decisions on bombing during WWll and and why the B-29 was built at a cost more than the atomic bomb.

My great-grandfather was a lead developer of the mechanical actuator/trigger mechanism on the bomb for the Manhattan project. He was a biochemical engineer and navy pilot. WW1, WW2

The book "Blue Jacket Admiral" is written about him.
