Removing a Corian Solid Surface Sink Demonstration

preview_player
Показать описание
Removal of a solid surface sink from a Corian countertop using a 3hp router and sink removal bit. Moving slow and steady the sink will fall from the top leaving a relatively smooth underside.

Be sure to slow the router down to about 15,000 RPM because of the larger diameter of the sink removal router bit.

If you are removing an acrylic sink from a corian or similar top, the router bit to use is a 3-wing slot cutter. Set at the proper depth it will separate the sink from the top with no damage to the top, and has a somewhat minimal kerf. I have done this on the job site...

How do i find someone in my area to remove the sink? I know it takes a special blade, but i am having a hard time finding someone near me?

What kind of router bit did you use to accomplish this? This is exactly what we want to do with our corian sink...your advice is much appreciated.

I suppose, but if you have never removed a sink with a router before you can appreciate the difficulty. This video will give the fabricator confidence in knowing that it can be accomplished.

You could use a smaller router but it will take longer and I wouldn't suggest doing more than just a couple.

Is a 3 hp router required or will it simply take longer using a lesser hp router?

It would have been nice to show the specialty router bit used here. Otherwise all it is is a video of a guy using a router.
