Great video! Nice and detailed and doing maintenance is key. Definitely not a waste of time, it’s taking care of your equipment. Thanks for showing us how to do this!

Hi,

When I look I begin really hesitating between this one and the Tohatsu. All the two looks beautifully made.

I use a small pomp style oil can to put the new oil in through the top hole. It works great!

Nice one
Is it same process to DF30A?

Thank you for all your videos. I bought the same outboard as you have, first time owner of an outboard and it helps a lot Thank you! When do you have to replace the fuel filter? Did you do it on yours? Thanks again!

Hi! I am going to undertake this service myself this season. Have you already changed the impellor? Like to know your experience with this.

I need help choosing a propeller for a 2024 Suzuki DF15 engine.
I have a problem, the boat goes into a plane very quickly but only accelerates to 3/4 of the throttle, when I tighten the throttle to max throttle, nothing happens, it doesn't accelerate, it just starts to hum, the engine only gets loud. There is no cut-off.
I have the original propeller that was installed 9-1/4x10 and I have to change something

Is the fitting the same for all outboards on the lower end. I have an oil pump for an old 80 merc but it seems too big. Bought the 15hp-2021 Suzuki and can't get the fitting to take to the lower end. Is this a Suzuki fitting or do smaller motors have smaller fittings that I have to buy. Also the motor was in the box and I went to loosen the lower end fittings and oil poured out. I was expecting it to be shipped dry- nowhere in the manual does it say the lower end is filled with oil at the factory- anyone else have this surprise with a new unboxed motor? Looks like I have a 10mm adapter and need an 8mm- be nice if that was in the manual.

Hmm if it is NOT milky then there is not any water in the oil!
And those "old" gaskets looked almost brand new, it´s not like they where copper-gaskets.
And if ypu still can see your reflection in the paint of the prop-shaft, then you just wasted time, energy and oil.
Why service a new motor? it´s more interesting servicing an old, preferably one with stripped out screw-heads. Or just one that needs it.

Video shows how, but not why. Most gear-houses last decades without oil-change.

Only reason i watched it was that i plan to change gear-oil on on 38 year old Suzuki-engine that has never been serviced. after i have installed the new impeller.

Otherwise great video, thanks.

Not a great design when you need so many tools to do a simple job. I just got a new Suzuki 20 delivered but before I could use it I had to get washers and a pump to pump the oil against gravity. I cheated because I wanted to go fishing and not to marine dealership.
