This isn't really a character study but I tried to separate this edit in different parts to show Wei Wuxian's evolution and how he slowly became the Yiling Patriach. And also I couldn't resist and I added some parallels because I love parallels.

I don’t consider WWX as a villain at all. I always think he had the best of intentions but the dark forces undoubtedly changed him but even then, he STILL tried to abide to the promises he had made alongside Lan Zhan at the lantern ceremony.

Imagining the amount of the energy that stone had, the amount of energy in his body and the whole messed up situation others put him through actually he was in great control!!!
He controlled the stone the whole time great while others couldn't do that for a second. When he released the tiger amulet in the nightless city every one gone mad and srated killing each other to catch the amulet!! Their conscience and energy was so weak for the stone that they couldn't control themselves in front of such a powerful thing for a second while he lived with that for years although every body tried to push him hard and make him lose control.
After watching the series month back I had no idea what these stones were exactly, I read an explanation about it that made it clear also referred tiger amulet used people's negative energy for power. The one's who usually wanted to achieve it were greedy people who used it for the sake of power and misused it to hurt others so their souls were weak and the stone was stronger than them and it could take control over them hence they went mad and crazy after a while. But wwx was different. He didn't want power he used the amulet to save people's life that's why the amulet couldn't consume the negative energy it wanted from greed to control him instead it was controlled by him.

This makes me want to cry because if you think about it he had control over what he was doing but other times he didnt like in Qiongchi path (I dont think I spelled that right but it's the path he was gonna go through for Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuans kids ceremony thing)

Wei Wuxian went through so much as well as literally every other character with their burdens and stresses. Wei Wuxian I never thought was a bad guy he was that kinda of neutral but justice guy, but then people turned on him and made him out for a bad guy and that in itself was stress on wei wuxian especially since he had enough problems controlling the demonic cultivation he decided to do, on top of that people blamed him for the simplest of things and ughhhh I'm sorry I'm emotional and fangirling and ranting at the same time ;-; this is one of my favorite stories ever and the plot is just so much bigger than what it seems. I really appreciate this video it's amazing and I want to thank you for making it and making the time to do this since I know it probably took a long time to do it all. Thank you for making this i enjoyed it so freaking much and i hope to see more!

Fun fact: Some time ago I was in my friend's car, music was playing and the original version of this song started. Tbh honest I didn't know the song, but listening to what I could grasp of the lyrics my eyes went teary bc it reminded me SO MUCH of Wei WuXian!!! I mean they didn't notice bc I was at the back but I was having my nth breakdown over cql and had to compose myself before asking what was the name of the song.

I always love it when he goes into whole grandmaster of demonic cultivation mode because people seem to forget he was the strongest person in the whole show i mean when he walked in that banquet to ask where are wen people held at everybody there was scared of him, the room was full of cultivators and their sects yet again they were all scared of Wei Ying, since show was censored so we couldn't get much wangxian i would really prefer more if drama focused on powers Wei Ying has and how strong he is i mean he is the first person to control darkness to the point darkness served him, it saved him if you look at it he wouldn't survive that fall when he was thrown at burial mounds if darkness didn't slow down the fall so he would live
