The more that flee the smaller cities, the more that is left behind for those who stocked up to survive within. I will stay right here. I have food, a shelter, access to clean water, guns and ammo. I can then hit the homes of those who fled in small vehicles and left much behind. I doubt they will be able to return, so my conscious remains clean. I will remain quiet and wait until the masses come. Only if I cannot bargain will be the time for firepower.

Railroad Ties - My father worked as an engineer for several years, and yes, we used RR ties for landscaping, but NEVER anywhere near food! They were flood control only!

Common sense. NOTHING will go as planned. Prepare for yourself, don't let anyone else know, have a backup plan, have something to trade, and find a group of like minded folks as soon as you can for future security.

I had to survive on rice for two weeks. It's a lot harder than it appears. Your body does reject the same food. Maybe over time that rejection goes away. I recommend have a way to make that same food different with different additives or meats or anything to make the taste different. Even if you have to forage for seasoning.

And with #11, I personally feel "continuance of government" procedures on behalf of any government should be illegal. If they fail to manage to the benefit of the public, that should disqualify the government from taking hold again.

You can remove ethanol from gas easily by mixing the gas with water in a gallon jug. Shake, let settle. The ethanol will bind to the water and it will look like you have much more water than you put in. Drain the water looking stuff off and the rest of the gas should be mostly pure. You may need to add an octane booster back into the gas if you need high octane because ethanol is used to help raise the octane of the gas. There are videos out there that show the process.

One very important note, is SHTF has many different tiers. From lightning, blackout, and tornadoes, to fire, floods, to earthquakes, to volcanic eruptions, to supervolcano earthquake eruptions, nuclear war and accidents, government tirany, civil war, superepidemic, and finally, Sun flares, and meteorites. (Comet strikes, asteroids are no longer considered a threat.)
