The gradient at Redford is 1 in 51, as is the whole of the 2½-mile bank. 9 coaches was the limit for a Castle in BR days (also Upwey bank, and Hemerdon, believe it or not) so this is a fine effort. It confirms the Castle as the loudest engine in Britain when doing this sort of work. An excellent video - many thanks.
