What they tried to do: Buff sunderer for more reliable spawns

What they actually did: Combine the harassers speed while about tripling the sunderers health for combat purposes

Would it have been too hard to just give all existing sundy garages some sort of spawn shield to protect deployed sunderers from hillsniping MBT´s/Lightnings like they ALREADY DID on Oshur?

Planetside is already one of the toughest games to balance and having brand new devs in place who haven't had atleast 100 hours in game to get good feel for all aspects of the game is gonna mean bad things especially if they dont have a finger on the community advice

I really don't have much good to say here, they wanted to improve the Sundie's ability to act as a spawnpoint; and in a way, the changes they made could be viewed as such but they completely neglected the overall view of what these changes would do to the Sundie's offensive capabilities. Thus, the ridiculous gameplay we see in the background where no vehicle, land or air, can stand up to it. Making the Sundie the number one go to land vehicle doesn't improve its ability to act as a spawn point unless you consider that there are just going to be a shit ton more of them. As you said, this update just feels very out of touch.

I've been away from PS2 for a minute. Downloading this update. I watched the video, then gave it some time to sink in. And I think the update is worthy of some praise because they're doing something valuable for their own learning and for any new players, which the game does get even at this late date: Buffing the spawn bus past every other vehicle in nearly every respect is a soft reset to both the spawns and vehicle game. This is a classic MMO move to obsolete the old toys and start introducing new ones. It's not a complete reset because they didn't address other spawn options(and that is worthy of a cautionary note) but it sets things back near to parity: new account, nobody's on but you and your friends, Sundy vs Sundy basically still works and allows engagement with other parts of the game. The game needs that entry level playability to continue to get 96+ fights. It doesn't need to do much of anything for 10, 000-hour diehards who know every possible vehicle matchup and how to play it; those players actually have a need to start fresh too.

Most spawn loss from "tanks on hills" just reflects player disinterest in acknowledging the spawns game, not a literal weakness in the Sunderer. They have limited time in their session and the game has infinite things to grind that will not be progressed by defending the spawn: it can be addressed by automating away more aspects of spawning(done very early on in PS2 with the hardspawn retrofitting) or by presenting more opportunities to contribute to spawns(which, running a battle bus does do, even if it's a transient thing).

"Support vehicle" which is tanky than an actual tanks and can go head to head with colossi if played right.
Harassers outspeed tanks and now we see sundies chasing those harassers with maniacal laughter behind the wheel

I really genuinely hope that this is just growing pains from having a new development team working on the game, they have some good ideas that are executed very poorly. And some ideas that are baffling, but if they QUICKLY and CLEARLY say "we fucked up, we will be balancing this soon" then some of my hope will return.

The Sunderer is now broken. It cannot be considered a "support vehicle" because it can hold AP rounds in numerous shots. 

When a Main Battle Tank shoots AP rounds at a deployed Sunderer, which fires back, the Sunderer wins. Additionally, Sunderers are commonly spotted pursuing Harasser on the battlefield.

Unpopular opinion, the sundie survival ability when deployed is highly increased this is obvious in small to medium size battles lone wolfs can't take ur sundie with ease, even lighting and mbt will need more time to take it out, even in the big fights they can hold their own if enough support is provided.
The issue is not with thier new abilities a sundie should be fast and survivalable but it shouldn't have the types of guns and number our sundies have, a good approach to this problem would be nerfing the sundie guns maybe numbers to lessen it's combat ability.
As a final thought, I know you hate what this game is now but please be a little positive the community is already dwindling in numbers

Remove the mobility buffs.

And make it so the health printer can only activate when deployed.

That solves most of the issues.

This game is still miles ahead of battlefield and delta force hawk ops. I’ll stand by that to the death of the game. It needs way more support

During primetime, there are certainly Sundie columns rolling around wrecking everything, but during the slower times, with the shields, we can now have a line of sundies deployed and not need to worry about a C4 fairy or random tank taking it out instantly while we are away from it for a second. It has helped with keeping the spawn points active, which doesn't fit in with your critique.

I think a simple fix to the bigger issues would be to only allow the repair skill to be active while deployed.

Almost everything else is fine. Yes, the speed and agility is a bit, odd, to say the least, but being able to climb a hill and deploy a sundie in a more protected spot on the side of a base is valuable.

You never experienced the might of the battle bus? Me and a buddy used to unleash hell on armor, air and infantry alike in our battle bus, completely alone. Just me on the bulldog or walker and him driving. Then came AMS and repair and the douche nozzle brigade in the battle bus trains and ruined it all. That game was so much fun once upon a time. F*cking Wrel…

Nanite Armor Sundies are having a very similar negative impact to that of BFRs in Planetside 1.

Things PS1 BFRs and Nanite Armor Sundies have in common:

- They're the most powerful vehicle on the battlefield
- They have constantly regenerating armor/shield that lets them ignore the fire from a single Tank
- They can be readily killed if alone, but they roam in packs. Even in small numbers they dominate
- The only way to counter a group of them is by pulling a group of your own
- They've effectively invalidated/replaced every other combat vehicle. There's no reason to pull any other vehicle
- They're fun for those who enjoy that particular vehicle at the expense of all other similar playstyles
- They're EVERYWHERE
