I completely agree with Point #1! Conversational stories are amazing, and they really hook you right from the start. They also give you insight into the narrator/author of the story. How they think, speak, etc. Love it!

Excellent video, as usual Julie. This is one of my strong points, as my initial book is based on all true stories about 9 Rookie CEOs. I was able to get to my key points, use each true story to bring them home to the reader, and educate readers on how to handle similar situations - all from my stories. Your point about save and log stories is critical in remembering the details and learning from each one. Good stuff!

Once we let the reader knows that failure is also in the mix, it increases the tension for every vignette. The reader wants to know, will this person make it out of the scrape? There's no mystery if there's a clear pattern, and every story ends in stccess.

My question, if you would be so kind to comment, is this - I want to write up a true life story but as fiction so as not to identify others or places. I also want readers to be left with the curiosity of mind about whether the story is fact or fiction from what I say on the cover back or front. Any advice please? Thanks in advance.
