A tiger at the Bronx Zoo in New York City has tested positive for coronavirus, in the first known case of a human infecting an animal, the zoo's chief veterinarian confirmed.

Chief veterinarian at the Bronx Zoo, Paul Calle said Nadia, a 4-year-old Malayan tiger that tested positive for COVID-19, after she developed a dry cough along with three other tigers and three lions.

The veterinarian said: "Nadia became sick after exposure to an asymptomatic zoo employee."

Nadia underwent X-rays, an ultrasound and blood tests to try to figure out what was ailing her. They decided to test for COVID-19 given the surge in cases in New York City, the epicentre of the outbreak in the United States.

But it seems that a cat can be carrying the virus. Maybe the vast majority of them are asymptomatic carriers and only a very few show symptoms. This ought to be investigated more thoroughly.

Connor Reed first brit to contract Covid-19 way back in November documented his symptoms on his blog.
"Even the kitten hanging around my apartment seems to be feeling under the weather. It isn’t its usual lively self, and when I put down food it doesn’t want to eat. I don’t blame it – I’ve lost my appetite too"

"Day 11: Suddenly, I’m feeling better, physically at least. The flu has lifted. But the poor kitten has died. I don’t know whether it had what I’ve got, or whether cats can even get human flu. I feel miserable."

It was obvious that when Corona can transmit from Animals to Humans, it can also happen vice-versa. Animal meat may also contain Coronavirus. Pet animals also need to be tested for Corona.

So wait... NOT ONE of the handlers is sick. BUT the tiger is? I think that the general public is NOT standing within 6 feet of these tigers. THAT means 6 feet is TOO close for us to be near other humans! Am I wrong?

Tigers belong to the cat family. Social distance from your pets to protect them.

They tested my plant and it turned out positive in Covid, it's hard to determine now who are the carriers.
