Endocytosis and exocytosis

What are endocytosis and exocytosis? Endocytosis refers to the process in which cells engulf extracellular material, and there are different forms of endocytosis like phagocytosis, pinocytosis and receptor-mediated endocytosis. Exocytosis refers to the process in which cells expel material into the extracellular space.

Quite the nostalgia trip! Most of the natural sciences students start their biology course roughly somewhere around the topics of cell structure and physiology with the highlight on various types of cellular transport.
