Welcome to Lesson 2 of Seymour Duncan's course on how to solder! This week we're showing you the difference between pencil tip, chisel tip, and single flat tip. Selecting the right tip for your soldering iron is detrimental to the type of guitar work you're trying to accomplish.

Not having the right tip can leave you struggling to conduct the right amount of heat to melt solder. We at Seymour Duncan want everyone to feel comfortable with a solder and empower our community to make some modifications, as well as DIY repairs to your own guitar. So join us on our journey and the first of many videos we release on the art of soldering.

I use a chisel tip for all guitar work. Pencil tips are for electronic boards in my experience.
