BG3 raised the bar, every Dev that wants to make an RPG should take notes. Writing is one of the most important aspects of an RPG.

Some people don't seem to realise that "writing" isn't just dialogue. Writing is responsible for everything you see in the game. Dragon Age Origins created amazing lore from scratch. Thedas is one of the best-constructed fantasy universes ever. It had great potential, which has unfortunately been squandered.

As somebody who's beaten Origins on every origin playthrough, it's closer to Baldur's Gate 3 than Veilguard will ever be to any God of War game
