DIY Dream Closet Makeover on a Budget!!! *Less Than $1k*

👋 After buying our first house a year ago and doing several renovation projects. Today we tackle the master closet! Our closet is pretty large however just has generic builder grade metal wire racks and thats it. Not really too functional of a closet. So in this video we design a build our dream closet. My wife drew up all of the plans and mapped it out to fit everything is an organized way. And together we built a perfect setup for a dream master closet. Used several 4x8ft boards that already have the white laminent. Then several smaller pieces for trim and support. And 2x4s for the sturdy base. Also used a dresser my wife has had for many years and we integrated that into the design. Overall this project cost about $850 worth of supplies and I got a ton of use out of the circular saw, reciprocating say, nailer and drills. We start by ripping out the wire racks and fixing all of the walls. Repainting everything and then build the 2x4 base. We cut out the carpet for the base and screwed everything into the floor. Luckily I could re-use all of the base boards and cut them to fit the new base of the closet and that hid the structure and kept the carpet nice and tight. We built tons of shelves an uprights and added two double bar sections to hang up a ton of clothes. Also built a hanging dress section for her in one side and a tall shoe rack in the other side. Built two 6ft tall doors at one end of the closet and a small door on the other end to make everything look nice and clean! Knocked out the majority of the build in a long weekend and then wrapped up the fine tuning over the next few days. In this video, we'll show you how to build a dream custom closet for only $850! Only thing I’d have done differently is that I’d put some L-shaped shelves for the shoes in the corner to utilize the space better, but I guess that works too

That is so well done. How did you decide on the floor plan for this closet. Did you get the dimensions, then the 2 of you sit down and draw out what each wanted out of it?
