UK's new PM: Johnson tells country to support Liz Truss

Boris Johnson left Downing Street a few hours ago: his parting shot a freewheeling defence of his record in office, a complaint that the rules of the race had changed halfway through and a classical allusion hinting at a potential comeback.

Liz Truss is in Scotland awaiting the queen's invitation to form a government and return here to No 10. Her in-tray is already bulging with everything from the cost of living crisis and the Northern Ireland protocol to the war in Ukraine.

Yesterday I put £30 of diesel in my car and offered them £24 minus the 20% for VAT which I do not consent to at the local garage. The manager on my advice called the police and I said tell them my name they know me. They refused to attend as I said they would for three reasons. One I have a Law degree, two, I served a Lawful notice on the Chief Constable back in 2010 when I refused to pay Council Tax and I have never paid it since, and three it's not a crime it's a civil matter. The corporation that owns the garage cannot take me to court because the money was offered so there is no controversy.
I am still happy to pay the £24 for the fuel but I will not pay the VAT. Remember in England and Wales we are governed by consent and we can withdraw that consent at any time as it is written into our English Constitution. If everyone did this they would have to cave in we can bring the Government down by engaging in non-compliance. We all have to stand up now or a lot of old people I am in my 60s are going to die this winter if we just allow the Bankers who really control the UK Government to keep shafting us all.

If Truss lays a finger on Channel 4, ALL Broadcasters should close down for 48 hrs, along with the newspapers. Channel 4, as we have known it, is a great company, and in NO WAY should be sold off to the highest bidder, putting money into the government's coffers.
