Singing robotic voices have been around a long time too. Yamaha's Vocaloid has done some backing vocals for some of my music and nobody even noticed.



For lead singing, it's really difficult to get right because inflection, phenoms, accent, tone, vibrato, curves and bends into notes all have to be done manually. It's time consuming, but can be worth it.

It's far from perfect, but with enough effort, is not terrible.. and you can hide some issues with basic effects like distortion, EQ, effects on the vocal..or chop it up into a stutter as an audio effect.

But I have to say, if someone was to use it as part of their sound, to lean into the sound and to make the generated singing voice part of their vibe as an artist.. Like how T-Pain can actually sing, but still uses EXCESSIVE autotune as part of his "sound".

A trained ear can tell the difference between a real voice and AI generated voice.

Nowadays, there are AI text to speech generators that are "terrifyingly realistic". If someone puts a crazy effort into making original content, but with using TTS voices that you can't tell it's AI, is it ineligible for monetization?! I hope not.

Thanks for your video. I'm Australian and looking to use Australian accents for training videos. I've looked far and wide. I've been playing around with Murfi Ai, Eleven Labs, Synthesys, and a couple of others. I think the development of the Aussie accent is quite undercooked (we're a small market) to other accents. The voices might hold things together well for a sentence or two, but then I'm hearing glitches in pronunciation, rather than that butchering of the accent. The best I've found is Synthesia, but that includes the AI avatar and is expensive.

I work with multimedia for a lot for my corporate eLearning courses. I'm particularly sensitive to narration, it jumps out to me when it's not quite right. Some of the US and UK voices do a good job. But alas, I've got an Australian audience (I've tried the Kiwi accent, as well - it's also meh).

At some point, the AI Aussie accent will improve and will be usable. For the time being, I'll need to rely on real-life voice talent.
